San Ysidro Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support Behavioral Health Providers in clinical and administrative tasks across SYHealth clinics. The role includes patient intake, routine clerical work, and aiding in examinations and procedures.

The position requires a High School diploma or GED, Medical Assistant training per California regulations, and bilingual abilities in English and another language such as Spanish, Tagalog, or Arabic. CPR/BLS certification is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of Medical Assistants training per the Medical Board of California.
• Current BLS for Healthcare Provider CPR or CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer.
• Externship completion and 1 year of medical assisting experience.
• Must be bilingual in English and Spanish, Tagalog or Arabic.

Responsibilities

• Assist Behavioral Health Providers with examinations and procedures.
• Complete chart preparation and huddles with Providers.
• Perform routine clerical tasks including data entry and scheduling.
• Screen patients using PHQ9, GAD7, DAST, AUDIT as needed.
• Document in EHR and maintain patient confidentiality.
