Job summary

Bergen New Bridge Medical Center is seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse to join the Behavioral Health Services team. The role focuses on providing compassionate direct patient care, administering medications, and supporting care plans under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

Qualifications

• Current NJ license as an LPN.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification required.
• IV certification preferred.
• Clinical nursing skills appropriate for an LPN.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Speaks, reads and writes English to the extent required by the position.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients, including medications, treatments, dressing changes, and monitoring.
• Conduct 24-hour nursing assessment and relay data to RN for MDS inclusion.
• Assist in plan of care formulation and implementation under RN direction.
• Document patient responses and interventions in medical records.
• Maintain infection control and safety in patient care.
• Communicate effectively with the health care team regarding patient needs or changes in condition.
