Job summary

Prime Healthcare is hiring a Behavioral Health Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for Saint John Hospital in Leavenworth, KS. You will provide compassionate, hands-on care to patients with acute mental health needs in a 12-hour shift inpatient setting.

Join a dedicated interdisciplinary team to promote patient safety, stabilization, and recovery while administering medications, monitoring patients, and coordinating care. Benefits are included; sign-on bonus available for qualifying candidates.

Qualifications

• Current state license as an LPN or Psychiatric Technician.
• BLS (AHA) certification required on hire.
• IV certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients with acute mental and behavioral health needs in an inpatient setting.
• Observe, monitor, and document patient behavior, mental status, and safety risks.
• Administer medications as ordered and monitor for side effects.
• Assist with crisis intervention and de-escalation to promote unit safety.
• Support admissions, discharges, and transfers, including patient education.
• Collaborate with RNs, providers, and the interdisciplinary care team.
• Complete, accurate, and timely clinical documentation per policy and regulations.

Hours: 12-hour shifts – 7:00 am to 7:00 pm

Location: Saint John Hospital – Leavenworth, KS
