Job summary

Prime Healthcare's Behavioral Health Unit in Kansas City, MO, is seeking an LPN Intake Case Manager to assess and triage patients in behavioral health crises, coordinate admissions and placement, and support utilization review with the aim of connecting patients to the appropriate level of care.

Join a collaborative team, document medical necessity, secure insurance authorizations, advocate for patients, and help ensure smooth transitions from intake to admission while maintaining high standards

Qualifications

• Current and valid State LPN license.
• Minimum 2 years of psychiatric nursing experience.
• BLS required at hire and maintained.
• Management experience 2+ years preferred.
• Experience in psychiatric emergency and triage preferred.
• Knowledge of Milliman Criteria and InterQual Criteria preferred.
• Knowledge of psychiatric medical necessity and discharge planning regulations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform psychiatric assessments, crisis screenings, and behavioral health triage. Coordinate admissions, referrals, transfers, and patient placement.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure appropriate care.
• Complete utilization review and medical necessity documentation.
• Coordinate insurance authorizations and support denial prevention.
• Serve as a patient advocate throughout the intake and admission process.
