Job summary

The Behavioral Health Intensive Outpatient Program (BH IOP) Coordinator at UVA Community Health (UVACH) is a nonexempt, multifaceted role that supports patient access, scheduling, and administrative operations. Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associates degree preferred in healthcare administration, business, or related field.
• Experience in operations, healthcare administration, or behavioral health is valued but not required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Handle patient access tasks: registration, insurance verification, and demographics with high accuracy.
• Coordinate and manage appointment scheduling; communicate processes and next steps to patients and families.
• Collaborate with clinical teams to resolve scheduling or registration challenges and ensure compliance.
• Provide administrative support, onboarding paperwork, and cross-training to support workflows across departments.
• Maintain HIPAA and regulatory compliance and participate in quality assurance initiatives.
