Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in social work, counseling, psychology, mental health or related field.
• RN license may be required in some states (associate or bachelor in nursing).
• 1+ year(s) experience in mental/behavioral health.
• Experience with managed care pre-certification and level-of-care assessments.
• Clinical interviewing, patient assessment, referral, and treatment planning skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates intake, admission, and prior authorization for incoming patients.
• Performs insurance benefit verifications and communicates results to patients and staff.
• Provides coverage for the Call Center team during high volume times.
• Maintains ongoing assessment of patient status in admission and prior authorization processes.
• Communicates recommendations to patients/families and coordinates with physicians for level of care.
• Ensures documentation for admissions process is complete and accurate.
