Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work, counseling, or related field.
• Must be eligible for registration as Agency Affiliated Counselor and designation as Mental Health Professional.

Responsibilities

• Complete intake evaluations for prospective clients, including determination of initial diagnosis and medical necessity for admission to services.
• Interview individuals to determine clinical necessity for mental health treatment.
• Assign new clients to appropriate treatment teams and coordinate first appointment scheduling.
• Communicate with referral sources and other treatment providers to obtain relevant clinical information.
• Refer clients to alternative and/or additional services when necessary (crisis services, primary care provider, community resources, substance use evaluation, etc.).
• Provide individual & family therapy and lead behavioral health groups.
• Assess clients for safety and risk to self or others, and take crisis intervention steps when indicated.
• Complete extensive clinical documentation in client-centered manner.
