Valley Cities Behavioral Health Care is seeking an Intake Specialist for the Seattle area. The role involves conducting diagnostic mental health assessments, placing clients at appropriate levels of care, ensuring consent and understanding of client rights, and collaborating with front desk staff and care coordinators.

Required qualifications include an MA in Behavioral Sciences or MSW and two years of mental health experience, with the ability to obtain MHP designation upon hire.

Qualifications

• MA Degree in Behavioral Sciences Field or MSW.
• Two years of mental health experience.
• Ability to obtain Washington State MHP (Mental Health Professional) designation upon hire.
• Pass required background checks.
• Ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Conduct diagnostic mental health assessments with skill and compassion.
• Provide client placement at an appropriate level of care based on clinical screening and JCAHO criteria.
• Ensure consent for services and understanding of client rights for individuals requesting services.
• Work collaboratively with Front Desk, Care Coordinators and other staff involved in the intake process.
• Attain client satisfaction goals, as specified.
• Attends scheduled VC staff meetings and training.
• Assists Access Specialist for Intakes in the overall program development.
