Job summary

RHD is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for behavioral health residential services. The DSP will assist with daily living activities, support development of independent living skills, and help with medication routines according to agency policies.

The role emphasizes community engagement, documentation, safety, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to promote recovery, dignity, and personal choice for individuals served.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Delaware Driver’s License required.
• Minimum three (3) years of acceptable driving history.
• Ability to meet organizational driving requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, grooming, meals, and daily routines.
• Support individuals in developing independent living skills and personal responsibility.
• Assist with medication routines according to policies.
• Encourage participation in community, recreational, educational, and social activities.
• Provide guidance, supervision, and positive role modeling to build confidence and life skills.
• Monitor for signs of crisis and respond using approved interventions.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive residential environment.
• Document changes in health and update records per HIPAA and guidelines.
• Collaborate with supervisors, nurses, clinicians, and families.
