Job summary

Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) seeks a Behavioral Health Consultant OPS to support the Northeast Regional Office in Gainesville. The role requires collaboration with CPIs, dependency case managers, and investigators to identify behavioral health needs and coordinate treatment referrals.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication, project management, and teamwork skills, with a focus on ensuring timely access to services and safe outcomes for families.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a health or human services-related field is required.
  • Three years of experience treating substance use disorders is required.
  • Valid Class E Driver License is required.

Responsibilities

  • Actively establish relationships with CPIs in co-located office space and educate on behavioral health issues and MAT.
  • Educate CPIs and case managers on use of MAT; provide field consultations for open investigations.
  • Partner with investigative staff to identify risk, parental functioning, and safety management services.
  • Maintain knowledge of community mental health and substance use providers.
  • Track referrals and entries into treatment for parents with behavioral health disorders.
  • Participate in legal and multidisciplinary meetings to support families.
