Job summary

The Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) seeks a Behavioral Health Consultant OPS to work in a regional office. The role requires coordinating with CPIs, dependency case managers, and investigators to identify behavioral health needs, provide consults on MAT, and support referrals for treatment.

Candidates must have a master’s degree in a health or human services field, at least three years of experience treating substance use disorders, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a health or human services-related field.
• Three years of experience treating substance use disorders.
• Valid Class E Driver License.

Responsibilities

• Actively establish relationships with CPIs and dependency case managers to identify behavioral health disorders and treatment needs.
• Educate on MAT use and provide office consultation during investigations with behavioral health concerns.
• Partner with investigative staff to assess danger threats, parental protective capacities, and safety management services.
• Maintain knowledge of community mental health and substance use providers.
• Track referrals and treatment entry for parents with behavioral health disorders, especially substance misuse.
• Support investigators in mitigating behavioral issues and crises.
• Participate in legal or multi-disciplinary meetings as needed.
• Perform other duties to meet program and departmental goals.
