Del Amo Behavioral Health System is seeking a Charge Registered Nurse (RN) to lead the assigned unit during shifts, ensuring safe patient care, appropriate staffing, and efficient patient flow. The role requires strong leadership, clinical expertise in psychiatry, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Education includes a nursing degree and California RN licensure; inpatient psychiatric experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of accredited nursing school required.
• Credentials: Licensure by the California Board of Registered Nursing required.
• Experience: Clinical experience in a psychiatric setting preferred.
• 1 year of acute inpatient psychiatric experience or completion of a structured psychiatric nurse residency.

Responsibilities

• The Charge Nurse serves as the primary operational nursing leader for the assigned unit during the shift.
• Maintain safe patient care operations and monitor staffing and assignments.
• Coordinate patient flow and communication between bedside staff and management.
• Lead and supervise RNs, LVNs, and MHT/MHW staff.
• Ensure continuity of care and adherence to the Primary Care Nursing model.
• Escalate staffing or safety concerns as needed.
