Job summary

Peregrine Health is seeking a Behavioral Health Service Coordinator to join our Clinical Staff Services team at a HealthPoint clinic in Bryan, TX. This hybrid role blends medical assistant duties with behavioral health coordination to connect patients with timely, supportive care.

You will support MAT services, psychiatric providers, and behavioral health visits, manage referrals, coordinate care, and document thoroughly to ensure continuity of services in line with HIPAA requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, completion of a Medical Assistant training program, MA certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) and current BLS/CPR.
• Experience: at least 1 year as MA, preferably in behavioral health/MAT/psychiatry settings.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (eClinicalWorks) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as first point of contact for behavioral health patients; greet, check-in, screen, and guide them through clinic visits.
• Schedule and coordinate care for psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and counseling appointments.
• Receive and coordinate referrals to behavioral health services and community resources.
• Provide follow-up calls to patients to promote engagement and adherence.
• Collaborate with behavioral health providers during visits to ensure seamless patient care and proper documentation.
• Support MAT services by managing patient flow and assisting MAT providers.
• Assist during crisis situations following the organization's crisis protocol.
• Maintain complete and accurate behavioral health records per HIPAA and organizational standards.
• Schedule appointments and manage referrals through HealthPoint's EHR.
