Job summary

Haverhill Pavilion Behavioral Health is seeking a Behavioral Health Associate to support an interdisciplinary treatment team under RN supervision, delivering 1:1 patient care to individuals in acute psychiatric crises and ensuring safety and therapeutic engagement.

You will work with nurses, participate in safety checks every 15 minutes, assist with admission orientation, and help implement treatment plans while maintaining a compassionate, structured environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in human services preferred but not required.
• Willingness to participate in paid training.

Responsibilities

• Conduct 15-minute safety checks and supervise patients as required.
• Engage with patients to assess mental status and progress toward goals.
• Interact with patients, observe behaviors, and inform nursing staff.
• Provide 1:1 support and maintain a therapeutic environment.
• Assist in crisis situations with verbal de-escalation and CPI-aligned interventions.
• Float to units as needed and support discharge planning efforts.
• Educate staff on triggers, warning signs, and coping strategies.
