Job summary

The Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation in Kongiganak seeks a Behavioral Health Aide Trainee. Under supervision of a licensed clinician, you will support village-based assessments, crisis stabilization, case management and screenings to aid clients.

You will pursue a certification path toward BHA-I, complete required training hours, and develop skills in counseling and data documentation. The role requires flexibility, strong communication, and bilingual capabilities (Yup’ik/English preferred).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required; candidate must commit to certification.
• Two years of experience in community services or related volunteer work are preferred.
• Plan to obtain Substance Abuse Counselor certification with supervisor support; progress toward BHA-I.
• Must develop a plan to complete 180 hours of specialized BHA-I training and 100 hours of practicum.
• Strong written and verbal communication, basic data retrieval and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision of a licensed clinician, provide village-based substance use assessments, crisis stabilization, case management and screenings.
• Deliver rehabilitation services consistent with education, training and experience.
• Flexible with work schedule and capable of independent actions within prescribed limits.
