Job summary

YKHC is seeking a Village-Based Substance Use Counselor to support rural communities in Alaska. Under supervision of a licensed clinician, you will perform assessments, crisis stabilization, and case management, delivering services aligned with your experience and training.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, a plan to pursue certification, and at least two years in community services. Bilingual Yup’ik/English preferred; strong communication and data presentation skills are

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must commit to advancing through a certification program.
• Minimum 2 years experience in community services (can include volunteer work).
• Ability to communicate, retrieve and present data verbally, written and electronic.
• Flexible with work schedule and capable of independent action within limits.

Responsibilities

• Provide village-based substance use assessments and crisis stabilization.
• Deliver case management, screenings and rehabilitation services within education/experience scope.
• Maintain data and documentation in verbal, written and electronic formats.
