Job description

Aging services is seeking a Dementia Care Administrator located in Bismarck, North Dakota.

As a Dementia Care Administrator, you will provide statewide leadership for North Dakota's Dementia Care Services Program (DCSP) and help shape how our state responds to Alzheimer's disease and related dementias. Your work will support the implementation of the North Dakota State Plan on Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementias (ADRD), helping ensure individuals, families and caregivers have access to information, resources and quality care.

You will lead the implementation, monitoring, evaluation and ongoing updates of the state plan while becoming a trusted subject matter expert on Alzheimer's disease, dementia and related public health issues. You will help turn the goals of the state plan into meaningful action for communities across North Dakota.

Your work will connect you with partners at the state, federal and national levels. You will educate and collaborate with a variety of people on dementia prevention, early detection, treatment and emerging research. You will also help others understand how changing health care needs and rising costs may impact individuals living with dementia, their caregivers and their ability to access quality care.

You will play an important role in coordinating evidence-based strategies that increase dementia awareness, promote early detection and risk reduction, strengthen caregiver support and improve the quality of dementia care throughout North Dakota.

Data will help guide your work. You will analyze public health data related to Alzheimer's disease and dementia to identify trends, gaps in services and opportunities for improvement. You will take complex information and turn it into something meaningful that can help guide decisions, programs and future priorities.

You will also write, manage and monitor federal grants that support the continued work of the state plan, ensuring resources are used effectively to move dementia initiatives forward.

To be considered for this position, you must have a bachelor's degree in one of the following fields public health, social work, nursing, gerontology, health administration, public administration, human services, psychology, community health, health education, healthcare management or a closely related health and human services field And a minimum of three years of progressively responsible work experience in one or more of the following areas public health, adult and aging services, Dementia or Alzheimer's programs, project or program management, grant administration, coalition building, community engagement or healthcare or long-term services and supports.

Experience working with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias is preferred.
