Job summary

American Indian Health & Services in Santa Barbara, CA is seeking a Behavioral Health Referral Coordinator to support whole-person care within our Behavioral Health and Cultural Services team. This full-time, in-person role coordinates referrals, eligibility, and scheduling for patients, reporting to the Chief Behavioral Health Officer.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Customer service oriented with a helpful, respectful approach.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Experience with an electronic health record system.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Experience in an Indian health care or community health setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee eligibility and coordinate referrals for behavioral health services.
• Manage appointment reminders, and caseloads; process internal referrals.
• Assist with new intake and scheduling; coordinate provider schedules.
• Help patients overcome barriers to care (transportation, finances, interpretation).
• Serve as a system navigator and liaison to community resources.
