Job summary

Maxim Healthcare in Oakland, CA is looking for a devoted caregiver to deliver one-to-one behavior intervention services and support daily activities for clients with behavioral challenges.

You will collect data, implement the Behavior Support Plan, assist with personal care, and work closely with families while following safety and care standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in educational or healthcare setting preferred.
• Minimum 1 year experience with individuals with special needs displaying challenging behaviors.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one behavior intervention services to individuals with behavioral challenges.
• Assist with daily program activities in self-help, communication, social, cognitive, motor and behavior and crisis intervention.
• Assist client with personal care activities including bathing, oral hygiene, meals, dressing and ambulation.
• Implement and collect data of the behaviors and goals outlined in the Behavior Support Plan.

Responsibilities:

• Assist client with personal care activities including bathing, oral hygiene, preparation and feeding of meals, dressing and undressing, ambulation and other activities as needed

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Previous experience working in an educational or healthcare setting preferred
• At least one year of experience working with children/adults with special needs who display challenging or aggressive behaviors
• College coursework in psychology, education, social work, behavioral sciences or related field preferred
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
