Job summary

Behavioral Emotional and Academic Mentoring LLC is seeking a part-time staff member to directly support students with special needs in the Montebello Unified School District.

You will assist in instructional activities, prepare materials, and help maintain a positive learning environment under supervision. Experience with youth groups or schools is valued, and completion of RBT training is provided.

Schedule is Monday through Friday during school hours, with compensation of $20-$25 per hour.

Qualifications

• Proof of High School Diploma or equivalency; or proof of an A.A. degree, 48 college units; or pass the Paraeducator Exam.
• Ability to work with children with a variety of special needs; willingness to complete RBT training provided.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to students with special needs under supervision.
• Assist in instructional activities and material development.
• Support school district staff with in-class activities as instructed.
• Maintain organized classroom materials and a clean learning environment.
• Assist with social skills, routines, and behavior management.
• May assist with classroom technology and adaptive devices.
• Supervise and support students individually or in groups as planned.
• Participate in program planning meetings as requested.
