Job summary

Behavioral Emotional and Academic Mentoring LLC is seeking a part-time paraeducator to provide direct support to students with special needs in Montebello Unified School District during school hours. You will assist in instructional activities, help prepare materials, and work under district staff supervision to promote a positive learning environment.

The role requires teamwork, reliable communication, and the ability to follow instructions while supporting individual and small-group learning.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, 48 college units, or Paraeducator Exam.
• Recent experience working with groups such as youth programs is desirable.
• Ability to commute to Montebello Unified School District locations.

Responsibilities

• Direct support to students with special needs.
• Participate in activities planned by school district staff.
• Assist in development of instructional materials.
• Assist with in-class activities per instructions.
• Maintain organized classroom environment and materials.
• Support teaching and behavior management techniques in learning activities.
• Under supervision, assist with assessing student needs.
• Provide observations to school district staff.
• Work with students individually or in groups and provide instruction.
• Assist with classroom technology and adaptive devices as needed.
• Support social skills development and toileting/hygiene assistance.
• Assist with supervision and crisis intervention when required.
• Participate in program planning meetings.
