Job summary

Behavioral-Emotional- in Montebello Unified School District is seeking a Part-Time Paraeducator to provide direct support to students with special needs during school hours.

You will assist with instructional activities, help prepare materials, supervise classrooms, and reinforce lessons in small groups, while maintaining a clean environment and safety.

Growth opportunities include RBT training with a 40-hour online course and potential compensation increase upon certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or 48 college units or Paraeducator Exam is required.
• Experience with youth groups or child centers is desirable.
• Ability to operate classroom technology and follow instructions.
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all situations.
• Understand the needs and concerns of children with various special needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to students with special needs.
• Assist in activities planned by school district staff.
• Help prepare and develop instructional training activities and materials.
• Assist with in-class activities per specific instructions.
• Maintain a neat and orderly classroom environment by organizing materials and equipment.
• Reinforce lessons with small groups and monitor learning centers.
