Job summary

Behavioral Emotional and Academic Mentoring LLC is seeking a part‑time Behavioral Aide in Riverbank, CA, for school hours. You will directly support students with special needs, assist with instructional activities, and help maintain an organized, safe learning environment under district supervision.

Responsibilities include classroom tech support, social skills guidance, and collaboration with school staff. Prior experience in youth settings is desirable.

Qualifications

• Understand and anticipate the needs of children.
• Operate classroom technology equipment.
• Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with children and adults.
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
• Show competence and assist with academic skills, e.g. reading and math.
• Communicate orally with correct language usage.

Responsibilities

• Direct support to students with special needs.
• Participate in activities planned by the school district staff.
• Assist in preparation and development of instructional materials.
• Assist staff in in-class activities based on instructions.
• Keep materials and equipment organized to maintain a neat classroom.
• Use effective teaching and behavior management techniques.
• Under supervision, assist with assessing student needs.
• Provide observations and impressions of students to staff.
• Work with students individually, in groups, or centers and provide instruction.
• Assist with classroom technology, adaptive devices, and equipment.
• Assist with social skills and toileting/hygiene.
• Supervise playground and support a positive learning environment.
• Reinforce lessons with small groups and assist with crisis intervention.
• Participate in program planning meetings as requested.
