Job summary

RCM Healthcare Services is seeking a Paraprofessional in Monterey, California for a school setting. You will provide classroom, behavioral, and personal support to students across age ranges, assisting teachers and staff to maintain a safe, productive learning environment.

This role offers both full-time and part-time options during the school year, with an hourly rate of $20.00 to $25.00. Candidates must meet education requirements and pass a background check.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• ParaPro exam preferred.
• Background check required.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teachers with instructional activities for individual students and small groups.
• Reinforce lessons, classroom routines, and academic concepts in core subject areas.
• Support students with toileting, diapering, feeding, hygiene, mobility, and other daily living tasks as needed.
• Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, playgrounds, and during arrival and dismissal.
• Collect and document student data under the supervision of a BCBA when required by the district.
• Prepare classroom materials, perform light clerical duties, and support overall classroom organization.
• Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and support teams to promote student success and safety.
• Participate in trainings, meetings, and additional duties as assigned.

This role supports both academic instruction and daily student needs while collaborating closely with teachers, staff, and support teams to maintain a safe and productive learning environment. Responsibilities may vary based on student age, classroom placement, and individualized student needs. Responsibilities

Schedule / Shift

• Hours per week: Full-time and part-time opportunities available
• Contract length: School year, subject to district staffing needs

Key Duties

• Assist classroom teachers with instructional activities for individual students and small groups

Requirements

Education

• Required: High School Diploma or GED
• Preferred: Must meet one of the following:
  • Associate’s degree or higher
  • Completion of 48 semester units from an accredited college or university
  • Passing score on the California Paraprofessional Exam (ParaPro Assessment)

Licenses & Certifications

• Required: Ability to pass background check and meet district employment requirements

Skills

• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and school staff in a classroom environment
• Strong communication skills, reliability, and a student-centered approach
• Comfortable providing toileting, diapering, and other personal care support to students
• Physical ability to assist with lifting, mobility support, and extended periods of standing or movement
