Job summary

The Aptus Group is seeking a compassionate Behavior Technician (BII) to support youth in a detention center setting in Malibu, CA. You will work one-on-one with an assigned student to help them meet behavioral goals, in a role designed for meaningful impact.

Pay rate is $24 per hour with full-time hours aligned to school operating schedules. The position offers benefits and opportunities for professional development within a mission-driven team.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
• 6 months of experience in behavioral services.
• RBT certification is a plus.
• Availability to work Monday through Friday during school hours.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct behavioral support to assigned student(s) throughout the school day.
• Implement behavior intervention strategies and support plans.
• Assist teachers in maintaining a safe, structured, and learning-focused classroom.
• Support students in meeting individualized behavior and educational goals.
• Collect and document behavioral data, case notes, and progress toward goals.
• Model and reinforce appropriate behavior and coping skills.
• Maintain accurate documentation of daily progress and student behavior.
• Support students with transitions and social-emotional regulation.
• Work collaboratively with classroom staff, school teams, and supervisors.
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
