Job summary

The Aptus Group in Commerce, CA is seeking a compassionate Behavior Technician (BII) to join our team and support youth in a detention center setting. You will work one-on-one with an assigned student to help them meet behavioral goals, with a pay rate of $24 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Some college, Associate’s, or Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct behavioral support to assigned student(s) throughout the school day.
• Implement behavior intervention strategies and support plans.
• Assist teachers in maintaining a safe, structured, and learning-focused classroom.
• Support students in meeting individualized behavior and educational goals.
• Collect and document behavioral data, case notes, and progress toward goals.
• Model and reinforce appropriate behavior and coping skills.
• Maintain accurate documentation of daily progress and student behavior.
• Support students with transitions and social-emotional regulation.
• Work collaboratively with classroom staff, school teams, and supervisors.
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
