Job summary

Manchester Public Schools in Manchester High School seeks a Behavior Technician to support students with challenging behaviors. Working under building administration, you’ll implement strategies to decrease maladaptive behaviors and grow social, communication, and adaptive skills.

You will collaborate with teachers, counselors, and support staff to plan interventions, monitor progress, and document outcomes suitable for Individualized Education Programs and SEL goals.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of de-escalation techniques and how to apply them in classroom settings.
  • Knowledge of behavior management techniques to reduce maladaptive behaviors.
  • Experience with intensive behavior intervention approaches and strategies.
  • Understanding of safety practices in the school environment and student protection.
  • Ability to monitor and observe student behavior according to policies.

Title: Behavior Technician - High School
Reports to: Building Administration
Job Description:

Under the direction of the Assistant Principal, the Behavior Technician works as a team member with teachers, counselors, school social workers and other appropriate personnel to develop appropriate and positive student behavior. The Behavior Technician Implements strategies that focus on decreasing maladaptive behaviors and increasing social, communication and adaptive skills.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
  • Knowledge of, and ability to implement, de-escalation techniques
  • Knowledge of, and ability to implement, behavior management techniques
  • Knowledge of intensive behavior intervention techniques
  • Knowledge of safe practices in the school environment
