Step Forward ABA in Chesapeake, VA is hiring a Registered Behavior Technician to work one-on-one with children using evidence-based ABA techniques, helping them develop communication, independence, and social skills in a supportive setting.

The role includes implementing behavior plans, collecting data, coordinating with analysts and families, and maintaining accurate progress notes; travel to in-home settings is expected at times, with a strong emphasis on safety and positive outcomes.

Qualifications

• RBT certification preferred and certification within 30 days of employment.
• Pass a National Criminal Background check.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to travel and work in-home settings.

Responsibilities

• Work one-on-one with children using evidence-based ABA techniques to promote independence, social skills, and personal growth.
• Teach skills to enhance communication and functioning.
• Implement and facilitate behavior plans, monitor outcomes, and adjust strategies as needed.
• Restructure environments to support positive outcomes and reduce problematic behaviors.
• Collect data and maintain accurate records.
• Communicate with behavior analysts, families, and peers to coordinate activities and advocate for individual needs.
• Complete daily progress notes and maintain accurate records.

Pay Ranges Based on Experience & Education:

Pay: $20.00 - $27.00 per hour

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Pass a National Criminal Background check
• RBTCertification (preferred)
• Completion ofcertification process within 30 days of employment
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to physically engage with children in a fast-paced environment, lifting up to 30lbs and maintaining a safe and tidy workspace.
• Spanish-speaking skills are a plus but not required.
• Must be willing to travel and work in-home settings.
• Childcare (nanny, babysitter, preschool teacher, tutor, etc.) (Preferred)
• Mental health advocates and professionals (QMHP, behavioral health technicians) (Preferred)
• Camp counselors, volunteers, youth faith group leaders or youth coaching (Preferred)
• Degrees in special education, teaching, psychology, sociology, or related fields (Preferred)
• Experience as direct support, paraprofessionals, or life skills assistants (Preferred)
