Job summary

The Arc of the Ozarks is seeking a Behavior Support Technician in Springfield, MO to bridge individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their communities. You will mentor clients in daily living skills, hygiene, cooking, and community participation to maximize independence.

Responsibilities include de-escalation techniques, collaboration with behavior analysis professionals, and support in implementing personal plans.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old and hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Complete CPR and First Aid training prior to or during employment.
• Complete a 16-hour Medication Administration course.
• ණ
• Complete a 10-course MANDT System Workshop.
• Complete OSHA Health and Safety training.
• Complete Abuse & Neglect training and Electronic Documentation training.
• Additional trainings per department may be required.

Responsibilities

• Educate and assist clients in daily living skills such as personal hygiene, cooking, shopping, and cleaning.
• Help clients learn coping skills to manage challenging behaviors.
• Use verbal de-escalation and redirection to ensure safety.
• Collaborate with Behavior Analysis professionals to implement behavior support plans.
