Job summary

Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI), a division of FullBloom, is seeking a Behavior Support Specialist to collaborate with school staff and provide customized support for students with intensive behavioral needs.

You will monitor across classrooms, help develop behavior plans, and document progress using PBIS/CASE frameworks in a multidisciplinary setting focused on safety and inclusion.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; college experience or bachelor’s degree highly preferred.
• Experience working in an educational setting implementing behavioral interventions for students with intensive behavioral needs.
• Emotional consistency and resilience to handle stressful situations in a composed and positive manner.
• Flexibility and willingness to jump in and support where needed to ensure safety and well-being of staff and students.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with school staff to support students with intensive behavioral needs.
• Provide consistent monitoring and support throughout the school site (classrooms, transition areas).
• Support the creation and implementation of behavior support plans.
• Record, track, and document behavioral incidents and progress toward goals.
• Utilize positive behavioral intervention and school incentive programs.
• Implement de-escalation techniques, crisis management, and physical intervention if necessary to maintain safety.
• Foster a positive and inclusive environment that develops appropriate social/behavioral skills.
• Work with interdisciplinary teams to tailor support for more intensive needs.
• Participate in debriefings with staff after challenging behavior/crisis situations.
• Facilitate communication with parents.
