Job summary

Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI) is seeking a paraprofessional/behavior aide to support students with intensive behavioral needs in K-12 settings in Norwalk, CT. You will implement and monitor behavior plans, provide one-on-one support, and help students reach individualized goals under IEPs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required.
• Experience implementing behavioral interventions in an educational setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with diverse students in educational settings.
• One-on-one support to help meet IEP goals with accommodations as needed.
• Assist in development and modification of behavior support plans.
• Record and track data on behaviors, progress toward goals, and incidents.
• Apply behavior support and intervention strategies.
• Use de-escalation techniques and crisis management when necessary.
• Foster a positive environment to develop social and behavioral skills.
• Supervise students and ensure safe movement to/from locations.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure consistent plan implementation.
• Provide personal care support as needed.
• Communicate effectively with parents.
