The Arc of the Ozarks is hiring Behavioral Support Technicians for Crisis Services in Springfield, Missouri. You will work with a teammate to promote safety, independence and skill development, supporting individuals with disabilities and behavioral needs.

You will receive paid training and certifications, with weekend hours required and flexible schedules. Training focuses on crisis prevention, de-escalation, communication and individualized support plans to ensure safety and dignity.

Qualifications

• Weekend availability is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Class E driver's license when required to operate an Arc vehicle.
• Able to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Promote safety, independence and skill development with a teammate.
• Support daily living skills such as hygiene, meals and community activities.
• Follow individualized behavior-support and crisis-prevention plans.
• Recognize escalation signs and use de-escalation strategies.
• Observe and document behaviors, progress and events.
• Collaborate with the support team to maintain a respectful, person-centered environment.

You'll provide hands-on support to individuals with autism, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and significant behavioral support needs.Some individuals may experience behavioral escalations, including verbal or physical aggression. You'll receive training in crisis prevention, de-escalation and individualized support strategies—and you will not be handling these situations alone.
