Job summary

The Arc of the Ozarks in Missouri is seeking a Crisis Technician to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including those with behavioral or psychiatric needs. Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Diploma from an accredited high school or equivalent required.
• At least three months’ experience providing direct assistance in the care, treatment and habilitation to individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
• Proficiency in applied behavior analysis, autism, developmental disabilities, and related disciplines pertinent to the assessment, treatment, and support of individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders and other disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Educate and assist clients on skills such as personal hygiene, cooking, grocery shopping, cleaning, and other activities of daily living.
• Work with your clients to learn and encourage coping skills to work through challenging behaviors.
• Utilize verbal de-escalation and redirection to ensure client safety when necessary.
• Work with Behavior Analysis professionals to implement and follow recommended behavior support plans.
