Job summary

Genesee Intermediate School District (GISD) is seeking a Behavior Support Specialist to assist students whose emotional or social needs affect learning. The role involves coordinating with families, schools and community agencies to provide services, with a limited duration of approximately five years.

The selected candidate will hold applicable licensure (SSW, School Counselor, or BCBA) and contribute to a supportive, inclusive educational environment across GISD’s district and partner

Position Summary

The Behavior Support Specialist assists students whose emotional/social needs interfere with their ability to obtain maximum benefit from the educational program. Acts as liaison between parents/guardians, school, and public and private agencies responsible for student care and services. This position is of limited duration (approximately 5 years) and state funded.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Education:Full approval as school social worker through the Michigan Department of Education, Approval as a School Counselor, or Board-Certified Behavior Analysist (BCBA). Preferred considerations will be given to BCBAs.
Pay Range

$70,367 – $92,560 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications
