Job summary

Genesee Intermediate School District is seeking a Behavior Support Specialist to assist students whose emotional and social needs affect learning, serving as a liaison among families, schools, and agencies. The position is limited duration (about 5 years) and state funded.

Position Summary

The Behavior Support Specialist assists students whose emotional/social needs interfere with their ability to obtain maximum benefit from the educational program. Acts as liaison between parents/guardians, school, and public and private agencies responsible for student care and services. This position is of limited duration (approximately 5 years) and state funded.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Full approval as school social worker through the Michigan Department of Education, Approval as a School Counselor, or Board-Certified Behavior Analysist (BCBA). Preferred considerations will be given to BCBAs.

Pay Range:

$70,367 – $92,560 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications

Paid Time Off:

• Sick Days – 10
• Personal Business Days – 3
