Job summary

Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI) is hiring a paraprofessional/behavior aide to support K-12 students with intensive behavioral needs under IEP guidance. You will implement behavior support plans, collect data, and work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide personalized instruction and support.

The role emphasizes one-on-one support, de‑escalation and safety strategies, and collaboration with parents and school staff to help students succeed in inclusive educational settings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma.
• Experience working in an educational setting implementing behavioral interventions for students with intensive behavioral needs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work one on one with an assigned student to meet goals in their IEP, providing accommodations and modifications as necessary.
• Assist in development and modification of behavior support plans.
• Implement behavior support plans and track data on behaviors, progress toward goals, and incidents.
• Utilize behavior support and intervention strategies.
• Implement de-escalation techniques, crisis management, and physical restraint if necessary to maintain safety.
• Foster a positive, inclusive environment that develops social and behavioral skills.
• Supervise students and ensure safe movement to and from locations.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure consistent plan implementation.
• Provide personal care support as needed.
• Communicate effectively with parents.
