Job summary

Specialized Education Services, Inc. in Frederick, MD seeks a paraprofessional/behavior aide to support students with IEP goals in a dynamic school setting. You will work one-on-one with assigned students, reinforce behavior plans, and collaborate with teachers to implement individualized strategies.

In this role, you will document progress, track data, and help maintain a safe, inclusive classroom environment that promotes academic and social growth for students with intensive behavioral needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma.
• Experience using behavioral interventions for students with intensive needs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work one-on-one with an assigned student to meet goals in the IEP and provide accommodations as needed.
• Assist in development and modification of behavior support plans.
• Implement behavior support plans and record data on progress and incidents.
• Utilize behavior support and intervention strategies in daily activities.
• Apply de-escalation techniques and crisis management as required to ensure safety.
• Foster a positive, inclusive environment to develop social and behavioral skills.
• Supervise students and accompany them between locations at school.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure consistent plan implementation.
• Provide personal care support as needed and communicate with parents.
