Job summary

Anova Education is seeking a Behavior Specialist - Student Connections, Instructional Paraeducator (IP) to support students with behavioral needs in various instructional settings. You will work with counselors, families and students to maintain consistent expectations and provide crisis support as needed.

The role involves implementing behavior plans, de-escalation strategies, supervising students on buses and in classrooms, and assisting with instructional materials and data collection.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Passing score on state-approved Paraeducator Assessment, OR AA degree or higher OR 72 quarter or 48 semester credits
  • Current first aid/CPR card
  • WSP/FBI criminal history background clearance

Responsibilities

  • Support implementation of teacher designed instructional activities and classroom routines
  • Conduct teacher/therapist-designed instructional experiences
  • Work with individual and small groups of students
  • Supervise, model, and teach expected behaviors across educational settings
  • Implement individual and school wide behavior support plans and positive interventions
  • Implement district-adopted de-escalation and restraint strategies
  • Foster social and language development through play activities and active engagement with children
  • Administer assessment materials as trained or delegated
  • Assist in preparation of instructional materials and perform clerical duties
  • Respond to student needs while maintaining confidentiality
  • Provide appropriate supervision on designated bus routes
  • Lead or support de-escalation/restraint procedures
  • Assist student with diet, feeding, personal care, hygiene, movement and mobility needs
  • Assist with IEP goals and academic support
  • Collect and enter behavioral and academic data
  • Assist in preparation of behavior plans and supporting materials
  • Serve as crisis team responder in designated buildings

Education

AA degree or higher OR 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits
