The Illinois Association of School Administrators is seeking a Behavior Intervention Specialist to support students with significant behavioral deficits and to collaborate with educational teams across the school setting.
The role emphasizes family engagement, behavior management, language enrichment, intensive sensory supports, and maintaining a highly structured classroom to promote student progress.
The Behavior Intervention Specialist will provide support to students, educational teams and families of students with significant behavioral deficits associated with Autism, Emotional Disorders, Health Impairments and other disabilities that may impede the student's ability to function in the school setting.
Hold a registered, valid Illinois LBS1/PEL or be willing to obtain
BCBA or Behavior Intervention Specialist preferred
Experience working with students with autism, social emotional disabilities, and other related disabilities that may required behavior management, language enrichment, intensive sensory supports, or a highly structured classroom.
Strong communication and collaboration skills for consultation with team members
