Job summary

TLC - The Treatment and Learning Centers in Rockville, MD, seeks a full-time Behavior Program Specialist for an 11-month position. You will develop, implement, and monitor high school behavior management techniques in cooperation with senior staff.

Responsibilities include training staff, data collection, and maintaining Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs). Requirements include a Master’s degree in a related field and at least 5 years in special education, with PBIS experience and strong

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in psychology, counseling, social work, special education, or a closely related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in special education with students with learning disabilities and/or autism.
  • At least two years of experience implementing PBIS or other positive behavior intervention programs.
  • Experience with bullying prevention programs and staff training in behavior management preferred.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement behavior intervention plans and classroom management.
  • Ability to develop and provide training related to effective behavior management.
  • Ability to lead group processes and maintain confidentiality with data.

Responsibilities

  • Implementation of student discipline policies and plans.
  • Training and supporting staff in regard to effective behavior management.
  • Maintaining parent communication.
  • Collecting, analyzing and providing all behavior management data and statistics.
  • Collaborating with school social workers.
  • Working as part of the school's behavior management team.
