Job summary

Kennedy Krieger Institute seeks a Behavior Specialist at the Powder Mill campus in Beltsville, MD. You will act as a case manager for student behavioral programming, develop and implement BIPs, and conduct FBAs with data-driven monitoring.

You will train staff, monitor progress, and participate in IEP meetings, while coordinating crisis responses and school-wide supports. Requires PCM and CPR certifications; BCBA/RBT preferred; bachelor's in related field.

Qualifications

• PCM certification within the designated timeline.
• CPR certification from AHA or Red Cross is required.
• Bachelor's degree in psychology, behavior analysis, special education or related field.
• Minimum two years of experience with children with developmental disabilities.
• Experience with autism or behavioral challenges preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA) with data collection and observation.
• Develop and update Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP) on caseload and ensure compliance.
• Collect, graph, and summarize behavioral data; share with teams quarterly.
• Train staff on BIPs and data collection; monitor fidelity of implementation.
• Prepare progress reports, IEP-related documentation, and attend IEP meetings.
• Coordinate crisis management responses and school-wide positive supports.
• Provide consultation to school staff on behavior management.
• Complete required documentation of contacts with parents and agencies.
