Job summary

Arts in Action Community Charter School is seeking a Behavior Interventionist Assistant/Paraprofessional to support students with disabilities in academics, socio-emotional and behavioral needs. The role requires implementing IEP accommodations and collaborating with SPED and general education teams.

The position includes attending trainings such as B-SET, tracking data, and leading social skills groups, with possible additional compensation for transportation.

Qualifications

• BA required.
• Experience working in elementary and middle school settings.
• Knowledge of PBIS preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• DOJ fingerprint clearance and TB test required.
• Technology proficiency in Google Docs and computer use preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with students with disabilities on academic, socio-emotional and behavioral needs.
• Attend special education trainings, including B-SET training.
• Implement behavior support plans and IEP accommodations.
• Collaborate with the special education team and general education team on meeting the needs of students with disabilities.
• Track data.
• Communicate to parents as needed.
• Lead small group or one-on-one social skills group or instruction.
• Help with general supervision.
• Possible additional compensation for student transportation (driving).
