Job summary

YAI is seeking an Assistant Behavior Intervention Specialist (ABIS) to support individuals with I/DD, lead behavior support plans and supervise staff. The role includes performing DSP duties, coordinating community activities and ensuring safety and rights.

You will train staff, collect data, participate in interdisciplinary teams, and maintain documentation while adhering to HIPAA and agency policies. Schedule includes evenings and weekends with travel within the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work or related Human Services discipline with 6+ months in I/DD.
• Alternatively, 2+ years in I/DD with college coursework in psychology is acceptable.
• Four years in a direct care role in a YAI program is also eligible.
• Strong written and oral communication skills are essential.
• Foundational certifications (SCIP-R, CPR, AMAP or equivalents) are required.

Responsibilities

• Identify habilitative, behavioral and psychiatric needs and implement plans.
• Train direct care staff on behavioral programming and data collection.
• Lead weekend/evening shifts and support BIS and supervisors.
• Maintain accurate data collection and documentation.
