Job summary

ACCEL Schools is seeking an Intervention Specialist at Cornerstone Academy - Middle School in Westerville, OH to support students with IEPs and to promote inclusive practices. The role focuses on behavioral and academic goals, collaborating with teachers and families to drive student success.

The ideal candidate will hold a current state license, be familiar with state standards, and have experience in co-teaching or resource-room models, with strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Current state license required.
• Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards.
• Experience in full room inclusion or Co-Teaching in a Resource Room model.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Work cooperatively with classroom teachers, interpreting abilities and disabilities; modify curricula as needed; assist with regular class assignments.
• Conduct diagnostic assessments for instruction.
• Conduct functional behavior assessments.
• Write and implement behavior improvement plans.
• Facilitate IEP Meetings and write IEP goals and objectives.
• Pursue student achievement and culture goals; meet state benchmarks.
• Use research-based planning and instruction; integrate culturally responsive teaching.
• Serve as advisor for a designated group of students; communicate with families.
• Participate in planning non-instructional activities; field trips; other duties as assigned.
