Job summary

AHRC Nassau is seeking a Masters-level Behavior Intervention Specialist to provide behavioral support services for adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities in Day Program settings. The role focuses on maximizing intellectual, social, and emotional development under supervision of senior staff and licensed psychologists.

Responsibilities include promoting the agency mission, supporting participants to engage in daily activities, and maintaining a high quality of life for clients

Qualifications

• Master degree from a program in a clinical or treatment field of psychology, social work, school psychology, or applied psychology required.
• 1-3 years experience in the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities

Responsibilities

• Provide behavioral support services designed to maximize intellectual, social, and emotional development and functioning of individuals receiving services.
• Provide ongoing support to people to become active participants in all aspects of their lives and to ensure a high quality of life.
• Promote the agency mission statement in every interaction.
• Work under supervision of Sr. BIS or Assistant Director of Psychology and Ph.D. licensed psychologist.
