People’s Arc is seeking a Behavior Intervention Specialist for Lakeland Day Hab in Ronkonkoma, NY. This full-time, on-site role focuses on assessing and supporting behavioral health needs through comprehensive planning and training of direct care staff.

Responsibilities include conducting functional assessments, implementing support plans, maintaining data, and participating in team meetings to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher required.
• Experience in behavioral interventions or clinical settings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Completes Functional Behavior Assessments and related psychological assessments.
• Creates and implements Behavior Support Plans and Restrictive Behavior Support Plans.
• Assesses and maintains behavioral data.
• Regularly communicates with direct care staff to review behavioral support and mentor staff.
• Assists with crisis intervention.
• Participates in screening/intake meetings for program and residential vacancies.
• Documents events/activities that affect health, safety, and well-being, per regulations.
• Supports incident management investigations.
• Attends annual and semi-annual team meetings.
