Job summary

Scottsdale Unified School District is seeking a Behavior Specialist to implement educational interventions and monitor progress to boost student performance and behavior.

The role requires collaboration with teams, data-based decision making, and evidence-based interventions tailored to individual needs. Arizona certification and several years of teaching/ RtI experience strengthen candidacy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Arizona teacher certification aligned to grade levels where assigned.
• Minimum five years successful teaching experience.
• Special Education and/or RtI experience.

Responsibilities

• Work with individual students or small groups to provide interventions and progress monitoring.
• Maintain records of interventions and progress monitoring to insure process fidelity.
• Attend team/parent meetings as required; provide input to teams regarding student strengths and weaknesses.
• Use identified scientific, research-based interventions focused specifically on individual student difficulties.
• Maintain data-based documentation of continuous monitoring of student performance and progress.
• Participate in student screening activities and assist with the analysis of the data to identify students in need.
• Provide data to the school teams and participate in decisions about student progress.
• Utilize tracking system to maintain lists of students participating in interventions.
• Perform related duties and responsibilities as requested by the principal.
• Other duties as assigned.
