Qualifications

• Experience working with students with profound behavioral needs/emotional disturbance.
• Ability to collaborate with regular education staff.
• Knowledge of PBIS, trauma-informed care, and restorative practices.
• Background in creating behavioral plans based on targeted individualized student need.
• Knowledge of data collection and progress tracking to support student outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Conducts assessments, testing and diagnostic examinations of students for the purpose of identifying learning issues and recommending corrective actions.
• Participates in IEP development (PPTs) and assists in implementing IEPs and behavior management plans.
• Coordinates with outside agencies, organizations and authorities as needed.
• Coordinates with administrators and staff to identify student abilities and needs and to inform stakeholders about services.
• Serves as a liaison between home and school and provides counseling to support student growth and behavior management.
• Maintains accurate records and communicates student information to colleges and employers as required.
