Job summary

NOCO Humane in Loveland, CO is seeking a Behavior Manager to lead the Behavior and Foster/Transfer departments. The role oversees staff supervision, program development, and daily behavioral oversight for shelter animals.

You will manage budgets, reporting, and community engagement while ensuring compliance with PACFA and related standards. A strong background in animal behavior and bilingual skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
• Certification in animal behavior required.
• IAABC shelter affiliate status desired.
• Minimum two years hands-on companion animal training or four years volunteer supervision experience.
• Experience hiring, training, scheduling and evaluating staff or volunteers.
• Two years working with the general public in a customer-focused role.
• Shelter experience highly desired.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish reading/writing/speaking plus wage premium.

Responsibilities

• Hire, manage, and supervise staff and volunteers within Behavior and Foster/Transfer.
• Oversee staffing, scheduling, payroll approval, reviews, and actions.
• Ensure professional conduct, attendance, and punctuality.
• Serve as Department Volunteer Supervisor and participate in related meetings.
• Develop SOPs for Behavior/Enrichment and Foster/Transfer aligned with regulations.
• Oversee census management and inventory of shelter supplies.
