Job summary

NOCO Humane in Loveland, CO seeks a Shelter Manager to oversee daily operations across Adoption, Client Services and Animal Care. You will supervise multiple managers and oversee staff, training, and budgeting for the campus operations.

Your role includes coordinating shelter activities, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting collaborations with external agencies and the community. A strong background in animal welfare and staff development is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum two years of supervisory experience in an animal shelter or similar organization.
• Minimum two years of staff management of 6+ people.
• Multi-department management experience including direct management of supervisors.
• Two years working with the general public in a customer-focused role.
• Experience hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluating staff.
• Experience with budgeting and staffing considerations.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus with a wage premium.

Responsibilities

• Oversees Shelter Operations and supervises Adoption, Animal Care, and Client Services teams.
• Manages staffing, performance reviews, scheduling, and payroll approvals.
• Participates in census management, budgeting, and strategic planning.
• Ensures compliance with state/federal regulations and safety standards.
• Represents the organization in external collaborations and emergency response.
